I got hooked on live rock and metal mainly after the Romania's biggest metal music festival Rockstadt Extreme Fest, in 2017. The energy was insane! Before that, I only had the occasion to go to a few concerts, but that festival changed the perspective of how I see the artists and the connection between them and the public. I started taking photos to try and capture that feeling, but I wasn't happy with just snapshots. I wanted to make the photos pop, really bring out the raw power of the music. I knew I had to find a way to capture that feeling, to bring it back home with me.
So, I started taking photos. But honestly, the first few attempts were pretty underwhelming. Just snapshots. They didn't do the music justice. I wanted to create something more, something that really conveyed the raw power and the atmosphere of the concert.
That's when I started experimenting with editing. I'd spend hours tweaking each photo, removing distractions, playing with lighting and colors, and sometimes even completely reimagining the background and atmosphere. I'd try to create something that felt like a poster, something you'd want to hang on your wall.
I wanted to go beyond just documenting the concert. I wanted to capture the emotion, the intensity, the feeling of being completely immersed in the music. I wanted people to look at my photos and feel like they were right there in the mosh pit, headbanging along with the crowd.
